Amy Winehouse

Amy Jade Winehouse was an English singer and songwriter who was born on the 14th of September in London. She was known for her deep, expressive contralto vocals and her eclectic mix of musical genres, including soul, rhythm and blues, reggae and jazz.
She was a member of the National Youth Jazz Orchestra during her youth and signed to Simon Fuller's 19 Management in 2002 and soon recorded some songs. Winehouse's debut album, Frank, was released in 2003. Many of the album's songs were influenced by jazz and, apart from two covers, were co-written by Winehouse. Winehouse released her follow-up album, Back to Black, in 2006, which went on to become an international success and one of the best-selling albums in UK history. She also won lots of awards related to the world of music. Finally, she died of alcohol poisoning on 23 July 2011, at the age of 27.
Her dress style
Amy Winehouse is an icon of fashion and beauty, since she was always dressed in a very special way that made her stand out. First of all, she used to wear her hair backcombed, which is one of her most important identity marks. She often decorated her hairstyles with some hair bands patterned with flowers. Secondly, she used to wear a very huge eyeliner at the end of her eyes and her lips make uped in red. Thirdly, she used to wear coloured ballet shoes as well as high-heeled shoes. Also, she often wore black, red or white clothes, mini-skirts, low-necked and sleeveless tops, leather jackets, huge belts, short dresses and patterned clothes. Definitely, I would describe her dress style as an eccentric, retro and vintage style.

My favourite song of hers
My favourite song by Amy Winehouse is called “Rehab”. I especially like this song of hers because of the melody and the rhythm that it has. The meaning of the lyrics of this song is deeper than we think. The meaning of its title is: a course of treatment for drug or alcohol dependence. Then, the song tells the story of how she took refuge in alcohol to forget her ex-partner, who made her get into the world of drugs. Analyzing the lyrics of the song, we can see how frustrated and depressed she felt after leaving that relationship behind.
