Nina Simone

Nina Simone was an American singer, songwriter, pianist, composer, arranger and civil rights activist. Her music styles are classical, folk, gospel, blues, jazz, R&B, and pop. She was born in a poor family in North Carolina and, since she was little she aspired to be a concert pianist. When she started to play the piano at a nightclub in Atlantic City she changed her name to "Nina Simone" to disguise herself from family members. Besides, she record more than 40 albums between 1958 and 1974 and she had been one of the greatest jazz singers in the history of music.

Her dress style

As Nina Simone was a Jazz singer, she used to wear elegant clothes like ankle-length dresses. However, she was so trendy that she reinvented the fashion industry for that time, with her quite sexy suits and her huge earrings. In each photo, she is wearing a different pair of piercings, which could be round, shiny… Another characteristic feature about Nina are her coloured hairbands, which are useful to fix her hair. Also, her necklace and bracelets appears in all Nina’s pictures.

My favourite song of hers

My favourite Nina’s song is “Real real”. The first time I heard it I knew it was my favourite because of the enthusiastic and optimistic melody. The entrance of the song motivated me to keep listening to this type of music- this is the reason why I like Jazz music. Also, this song is enjoyable to hear because it makes me feel happy and cheerful. However, the main reason I like this song is because of this romantic lyrics. In general I love romantic songs and if they have this special rhythm, I like them more because you can hearing and dancing them non-stop. If we get deeper with the lyrics we

know this song is about a real love- as it says the title. This is a type of love which everyone dreams with and everyone wants, so it’s typical to feel it in relationships. Anyway, the issue of this song is really actual because, as I said before we want this love for all our live.
